The Ramblers online accommodation finder provides a useful list of walker friendly accommodation including B&B, self catering, hostels and holiday cottages in the most beautiful walking destinations in the UK. General Council Update
Update from this years General Council. Essex motion on access to paths through woodland and beside waterways was one of 8 motions passed. Past Area Secretary, Len Bannister, was not re-elected on the board of Trustees.

Britain’s walking charity has called on the parties implementing coast to put their ‘best foot forward’, following publication today of Natural England’s long awaited blueprint for the coastal access scheme

Groundbreaking proposals should save ‘lost’ paths from extinction
The Ramblers has heralded groundbreaking new proposals the key to “saving our paths from extinction”, as Natural England publishes its ‘Stepping Forwards’ recommendations for protecting the country’s lost and unrecorded rights of way.
