Park in Daisy Meadow free CP, Chapel Lane, Heybridge Basin (grid ref TL 871 068 postcode CM9 4RX). Meet outside the Old Ship Inn, about 150 yards from the CP, left along the canal towards the river. The pub is open for coffee and toilets. Pre-order lunch (fish and chips recommended). Alternatives for lunch are the Jolly Sailor and Wilkins “The Lock” tearoom. A fig of 8 fairly flat and easy going. Morning walk to Goldhanger across fields and 4 styles, then returning to Heybridge along the river wall. Afternoon walk along the C&B canal towards Maldon Tesco’s then back along the river Blackwater. 6 + 4 miles

Morning walk up towards Chelmsford along part of the Centenary Circle, afternoon passing the parish church before taking in the views of the Wid Valley. Choice of pubs in Stock. (Hopefully not pouring with rain this time!) 7 + 4 miles

Meet Morrisons yard, Great Wenham (grid ref TM 071 384 postcode CO7 6PS). Sign posted at ground level on the Wenham Road, a turning off the B1070 between Holton St Mary and Raydon. Figure of 8 walk. Morning circuit to include the churches at Raydon and Holton St Mary. Lunch stop at The Wenham Queen, own food can be eaten outside. Afternoon walk to include the church at Little Wenham. This church is rarely open and there is a chance the leader may be able to borrow a key to enable a brief visit. The whole day’s walk is about as flat as they come. 6 + 4.5 miles
